Founder and CEO Stephen Prior made the strategic decision to divest from Mexico and relocate operations to Dongguan, China, a rapidly growing hub that has since become the manufacturing capital of the world. Starting with a metal stamping shop and offering limited assembly services, the company quickly expanded, building a reputation as a reliable, internationally-owned business capable of competing on price without compromising on quality. Over time, we earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products on time, with seamless, hassle-free shipments.

In 2019, we acquired land in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, and established Jiangxi Youmei Technology Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 80 million RMB. Construction began in June 2022, and the facility was completed and became operational in January 2024. The Youmei Industrial Zone was meticulously planned and designed to meet the high standards required for European and American manufacturing processes.

The site spans approximately 30,000 square meters and includes one R&D building, three production buildings, and a dormitory building. We have installed state-of-the-art facilities, including automated die-casting production lines, precision CNC machining lines, printing lines, assembly lines, as well as a fully equipped quality laboratory and testing center.

Our team is composed of skilled professionals across multiple departments, including new project development, mass production, engineering R&D, and quality control, all working to international standards. This enables us to independently handle research, development, and production at scale, meeting the diverse needs of our global customer base.

Currently, our primary industries include enterprise solutions, consumer electronics, consumer goods, medical and healthcare products, and hardware.

Established in 2017, Tutamen Mexico is an FDA - approved facility staffed with a team of expert managers, designers, engineers, and quality control professionals. Strategically located in Tijuana, near the U.S.-Mexico border, our 21,442 sq. ft. facility is uniquely positioned as a maquiladora, enabling us to offer competitive pricing, consistent quality, and fast lead times to the U.S. market and beyond.

As a maquiladora, we benefit from tax-free imports of tools, raw materials, and other resources sourced from our American-owned and operated facilities in China, ensuring streamlined production and cost efficiency. This enables us to provide our customers with exceptional value and timely delivery on a global scale.

As our operations expand, Tutamen’s long-term sustainability goal includes 100% recycling of all our water and continuing to reduce our carbon footprint, with the idea of becoming completely carbon neutral by 2024.

2021-2022
2021-2022

We headed into the new year with a tangible resilience due to a number of key factors: our effectiveness as a team to manage the pandemic and protect our staff, our carefully executed growth strategy and planned management of cash reserves. Looking to further our foothold and support our customers in the US, we set up a warehouse and support staff in San Diego. Our entire team of staff were successfully vaccinated in China. As the world begins to tentatively open up again, we are more committed than ever to furthering our expansion. This year Tutamen will begin construction of a 300,000 sq ft tech park facility on our own land and property.

2020

Despite being located in the country where the pandemic originated, we were among the first facilities to resume operations. While many factories around us were shutting down, we not only survived but also grew our business by acting swiftly and providing effective solutions. Despite challenges such as shipping delays and material shortages, we continued to meet customer demands without interruption.

In response to growing needs, we expanded our capabilities by adding new metal stamping and mold fabrication facilities, including those for stamping, die casting, and plastic injection molds. This expansion significantly increased our mold-making capacity, with a particular emphasis on rapid prototyping for plastic, stamped, and machined components.

Through a year filled with challenges, Tutamen successfully grew its capacity by 30%, demonstrating resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.

2018-2019
2018-2019

We established a new high volume satellite facility in DongGuan as we simply ran out of space at our current facility.  Deciding on the expansion of our manufacturing capacity has always been met with a carefully balanced outlook of continuing to deliver to our customers while continuing to make quality our primary focus.  Over the last two years, we doubled our CNC capacity, added die casting capacity and doubled again on both those capabilities. We began our search for something even bigger.

2017
2017

As price pressures increased in China, we sought a North American solution and decided to return to Mexico. In doing so, we opened our Tijuana facility, specializing in plastic injection molding, and supported by a highly skilled engineering and supply chain team based in China.

Since then, the company has continued to grow, driven by our commitment to delivering innovative solutions for our customers. By leveraging our global network, we simplify the often complex and chaotic landscape of international manufacturing, providing a streamlined alternative that meets the evolving needs of businesses worldwide.

In 2012, we launched our first metal machining shop, initially focused on producing high-quality cosmetic parts for the IoT and golfing industries. As our capabilities and expertise expanded, we began targeting more complex projects where our engineering knowledge could add significant value. To support faster turnaround times and optimize our designs, we started manufacturing our own plastic and metal tools and fixtures in-house.

This strategic move not only helped reduce internal costs but also allowed us to offer competitive discounts to our customers. At the same time, it gave us greater control over the quality of the tools and fixtures we produce, ensuring a higher standard of precision and reliability in our work.

2011
2011

We acquired a plastic injection company and began producing parts in a number of different industries varying from simple commodities to high cosmetic tight tolerance parts.  Shortly after working in plastics, we began working more closely in the design and maintenance of the tooling in order to better control process and lifetime capability of our tools.
